Following the recent AGM, there are some important details to pass on to members:
Club Subscriptions are due on 1 April. The following rates were agreed at the AGM: Single £48, couple £73, student £25, junior £12. Rising costs and the need to budget for court and floodlight replacement has meant a larger than normal increase, but our research shows we are still very good value when compared to other clubs. The court repainting last September and a recent maintenance morning have left the courts and surroundings looking very good. Existing members can download an application form and members guide at
Members who do not receive correspondence by email will have their copy attached to this newsletter. Please renew promptly to help our Treasurer.
Junior coaching: Registration will take place on Saturday 25 April from 10am to 12pm. Due to the increasing popularity of the junior programme, places will be restricted and allocated strictly on a “first come first served” basis. Existing members can renew their membership and pay for the coaching in advance of 25 April by returning form & fee to Andrew Lorenc. The Saturday morning coaching fee will be £25 for 10 sessions, which represents excellent value for money. The club has funds available to provide some financial support to juniors so please approach any of the club’s officers, in confidence, if cost is an issue.
Open afternoon Saturday 11 April: To start what we hope will be a great tennis season, we invite members to bring a plate of something to share for afternoon tea and have a game. Prospective members are also invited to come and try us out! If you know someone who is thinking of joining, please bring them along.
Finally, don’t forget our ABBA party on 16 May. Tickets will be available from committee members soon. Keep an eye on the notice boards for club news.
