Singles Ladder League

We’ve set up a singles ladder league online using a website called Wotscore. The basic premise of a ladder league is that you can challenge players above you in the league, if you then win you swap places with that player. Within the website you can challenge other players and record results the software then does the rest in terms of determining correct standings in the league. The league is open to all and you just have to visit the website and register using the following link.
https://www.wotscore.com/competitions/3573
Currently the league is open to men and ladies but we can see how things go and if there is demand for separate leagues we can organise this. Most of the rules in terms of making and completing challenges are determined through the website but we have proposed the following rules to accompany these:
  1. Matches will be three sets with all sets being determined by a tie break if drawn at 6 – 6.
  2. Where possible fixtures should be played at Lympstone Tennis Court but if mutually agreeable to both players matches may be completed elsewhere.
  3. Tennis balls should be provided by the challenging player. These need not be completely new but should be in reasonable condition and to the satisfaction of both players.
If both players agree to exceptions to these rules then that is fine. The main aim is to get people playing tennis and having fun.
